Ming Wai is a joyful learning environment established by enthusiastic early childhood educators and co-created by parents and children. Since its establishment in 1968, Ming Wai has constantly advanced and aimed to provide quality early childhood education.
“Acquiring wisdom through understanding” is one of the lines of our school song. The lyric not only expresses the expectation for our children but also expresses our educational philosophy – besides imparting knowledge, we must cultivate children’s mind, heart and morals so that they can “become social pillars of the future”. Nowadays, many Ming Wai alumni have become leaders in their respective fields, contributing to the prosperity and stability of Hong Kong society.
Our school fosters a rich multilingual environment, continuing a highly respected tradition. During the graduation ceremony every year, parents are delighted to witness their children’s fluent speeches in Cantonese, Mandarin, English, and Japanese. Ming Wai offers a combination of Eastern and Western language environments which enables our students to adapt easily to different cultures. We are dedicated to nurturing them into global citizens through this approach.
Ming Wai consists of experienced teachers who design a diversified early childhood education curriculum with a whole-person development approach. We believe in a supportive environment, where we take into account each child’s individual characteristics so their potential can be fully realized. We strive to ensure that our graduates make a smooth transition to the primary school of their preference.
I will continue to uphold the fine tradition of Ming Wai while incorporating the latest educational methods, as well as lead the collaboration between our teaching staff and families to pursue excellence in every aspect of the school. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated staff and parents for their active support.
Finally, I hope that every child who steps into Ming Wai will experience a happy and rewarding school life that will inspire them to grow and learn, practice kindness and appreciation, and become future pillars of society prepared to face the challenges of tomorrow.
